Try Walden Farms salad
dressing on your Lean & Green meal salad. There are
several varieties, all of which contain no calories,
fat, sugar, carbs, or gluten. In the Boston area you can
find it at Stop & Shop, Shaw's/Star Market, and Market
Basket stores. It is also available from the
Walden Farms web site, which has a wider variety of
products, but is more expensive than the local stores. I
buy it at Stop & Shop, where I pay $2.99 for a bottle.
To find a store in your area, call 800-229-1706. My favorite is the pictured Balsamic
Vinaigrette. The stores named above refrigerate Walden Farms salad dressings in the produce department. Elsewhere you may find it on the grocery shelves with other salad dressings. When I asked the Walden Farms customer service department I was told that it isn't necessary to refrigerate this product until after it is opened. |

Since you'll be making single servings of your meal replacements, you'll be doing a lot of mixing in small containers. The 6.7":Rösle Egg Whisk Model #95598 is perfect for the task. You can purchase one at Sur la Table for $16. There's a store in the Boston area at the Chestnut Hill Mall. You can also order from the Sur la Table web site, where you can find a store locator at the bottom of the page.
A George Foreman grill is invaluable for cooking the "lean" portion of your "lean and green" meal. Preheat the grill for a few minutes, throw a chicken breast on, close the top, press down briefly, and let it cook for 5 to 8 minutes depending on the size of the breast. Even the smallest Foreman grill can accommodate two medium breasts. The breasts are good plain, but if you get tired of them this way, try shaking on some fajita seasoning before cooking.
You may use Stevia sweetener while on the 5 & 1 plan. 1 packet or 5 drops count as 1 condiment. |
